Since process improvement methods like Six Sigma and Lean originated in the manufacturing industry, it might seem odd to apply those methods to your mining operations. How? A few of the projects with which I myself have been involved: augmenting life of tires on haul trucks, standardizing and organizing blast inventories, improving blast efficiencies, analyzing ore throughput, optimizing leach pad parameters to improve recovery.<\/p>
